My motivation for the e-mentorship programme

I have been working for the last ten (10) years in different roles from learning coordinator in the financial service industry to capacity building and training advisor for an international consulting firm to my current role as training specialist/consultant with a non-profit. It is time to give back from the wealth of knowledge and skills I have gained. That is the reason why I'm starting this e-mentorship programme.  You will be learning from my successes and mistakes but everything works out for good in all circumstances. I have taken a unique journey from core sciences to management with specific focus on learning so I understand a lot of what professionals go through in their journey and a word of advice can be very helpful.This is part of giving back; we can't grow unless we give back.

The mentorship programme will be done in a virtual environment and I promise that we shall both learn from each other in many ways. I am also excited with support from HR directors and top international development consultants who have shown willingness to participate. I'm grateful.

Happy Reflection Year

Happy New Year! We are thankful for 2021and hopeful for a relief. One thing people continue to talk about is the need for things to return to normalcy. The change has been exhausting; from working from home, home schooling, increasing use of digital solutions and concerns about health. That is a lot to deal with I must confess. Using your internal talent as trainers

Every year organizations spend money on consultants for a whole lot of things and training is not left out.   We go through rigorous processes to select the best. I will like to see things from another perspective and that is developing trainers within the organization. You will spend but trust me not as much when using external consultants in the long run. Let me be frank with you; THE BEST RESOURCES ARE WITHIN YOUR ORGANIZATION . They understand the system, people and culture within the organization. What we see is that a lot of organization shy away from this wealth of resource and continue on a ride with too many consultants. Tips for using internal talent as trainers 1. Determine the competencies required for each job role. Nothing complex. 2. Categorize the training offerings that will address the required competencies.
